Āhua Studio Membership Terms and Conditions - September 20240. Definitions

  • Studio: Refers to Āhua Studio, including the business entity, all staff, employees, and sub-contractors.

  • Member: Refers to any individual who holds any level of membership with Āhua Studio, including but not limited to those with formal memberships, casual attendance, drop-ins, or private clients.

1. Membership Agreement

By signing up for a membership with the Studio, you agree to comply with and be bound by the terms and conditions outlined herein.

2. Membership Options and Fees

a. The Studio offers various membership options, each with its own fees and benefits. Details of these options are available on our website and may be subject to change. Members are responsible for staying informed about any modifications.
b. Membership fees are due on a weekly or fortnightly basis and must be paid in full for the duration of the membership term.
c. Membership (The Quad / The Triple / The Double) - minimum 6-month (26-week) term, paid on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
d. Special release offers: term dependent on offer, please refer to the membership you have chosen, paid on a weekly or fortnightly basis for the duration of the specified term.

3. Membership Access

a. Members must use the Studio's designated check-in system upon each visit.
b. Membership access is non-transferable unless express permission is granted by the Studio.
c. Members are strictly prohibited from allowing others to use their membership.
d. At the discretion of Āhua Studio staff, members may use a credit to bring a friend to a class they are also booked into.

4. Membership Pause or Cancellation

a. Members may request a temporary pause of their membership for a minimum period of 2 weeks due to medical reasons (with evidence of a medical certificate) or other extenuating circumstances. Medical pause requests must be submitted in writing via email at least 5 days in advance.
b. Members may request a temporary pause of their membership for a minimum period of 2 weeks due to overseas travel with evidence of travel. Travel pause requests must be submitted in writing via email at least 30 days in advance.
c. Memberships will automatically renew at the end of the membership term. It is the responsibility of the member to inform the Studio in writing if they do not want to renew the membership.
d. Cancellation of a membership requires 90 days' written notice. No refunds will be provided for any remaining days in the current membership term.

5. Studio Rules and Conduct

a. Members must adhere to the following rules and guidelines.
b. Disruptive or disrespectful behaviour towards staff or fellow members may result in the immediate termination of membership.
c. Members have access to the shared bathroom facilities located in the neighbouring Workspace, through the back door and up the stairs. Members must not enter any other area of the neighbouring Workspace.
d. Members must use the shared bathroom facilities with consideration of other users and leave them clean and tidy.
e. Members must arrive with sufficient time before their reserved session to set up their exercise area.
f. All equipment must be returned to the correct place in a timely manner.
g. If bringing young children or infants to the studio, it is the responsibility of the member to ensure the safety of their children or infants or other children in their care while in the studio. The member must ensure the children/infants do not play with or use any equipment in the studio. Āhua Studio and staff do not take responsibility for children entering the premises. Āhua Studio reserves the right to ask the member to remove their children from the studio if the children are at risk or placing others at risk.

6. Class Reservations and Cancellations

a. Members must book a class in advance and arrive at least 5 minutes before the class begins. Late arrivals may result in the member being refused access. This is a safety issue.
b. Cancellations and rescheduling must be made at least 8 hours before the scheduled class to avoid penalties.
c. Members on the Autumn Release Special Offer Memberships - Failure to attend a reserved class will incur a $10 penalty fee.
d. Cancellations and rescheduling cannot be made within 8 hours of the scheduled class. If a member is unable to attend a class and did not cancel more than 8 hours in advance, that credit will be used as per a scheduled class.
e. Class schedules open for reservation approximately 2 weeks in advance. All members have equal opportunity to book classes, and it is the member's responsibility to reserve classes when the schedules become available.
f. No ‘standing’ reservations are available regardless of membership status.
g. The Studio reserves the right to cancel a class with as much notice as possible in the event of staff illness. In this instance, the credit will be returned to the member’s account.
h. The Studio reserves the right to cancel a class with as much notice as possible in the event of low class numbers (fewer than 3 members). The Studio will take all steps practicable to rebook members into a class at a similar time. If rebooking is not possible, the credit will be returned to the member’s account.

7. Health and Safety

a. Members are responsible for assessing their own health and fitness level and consulting with a healthcare professional before participating in any fitness activities.
b. Members must inform Studio staff of any medical conditions or concerns that could affect their ability to participate in classes or use Studio facilities before starting the class.
c. Members must bring any safety issues they see to the attention of the staff as promptly as possible.

8. Privacy Policy

The Studio respects the privacy of its members. Personal information will not be shared with any third party without express permission by the member.

9. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

The Studio reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of any changes, and continued use of the membership constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
